Fall New Student Orientation
Description
New Student Orientation is your next step to graduation! This event is an interactive experience for both students and their families. NSO is a half-day introduction to Gordon State College that is required for all new students.
It's important to select the date that matches your student type to ensure you receive the most relevant information and resources for your needs. Please review the options carefully and choose the session that applies to you:
- Thursday, June 5th @ 4 PM – Transfer, Adult Learners, and Previously Dual Enrolled Students ONLY
- Thursday, June 26th @ 8 AM – New Freshmen (Student-Athlete Focused)
- Thursday, July 10th @ 8 AM – New Freshmen (First-Generation Focused)
- Thursday, July 17th @ 4 PM – Transfer, Adult Learners, and Previously Dual Enrolled Students ONLY
- Thursday, July 24th @ 8 AM – New Freshmen
- Friday, August 1st @ 8 AM – New Freshmen

Questions & Answers
NSO connects you to your new Gordon State family by showcasing resources that will assist you in a successful transition to campus. NSO also provides you with the opportunity to meet your new peers while also exploring your new academic program.
If possible, please complete the following before NSO:
- Set up your Gordon email and your Gordon Banner Web to see your schedule, financial aid, and more (here).
- Set up Navigate to see your schedule, contact your advisor, and much more (use network/email password)
- Set up Multi-Factor Authentication-DUO
- If you have not completed the D2L pre-orientation course (including the Scheduling Survey) please do so.
- Wear comfortable shoes as we will be walking throughout the day.
- Bring a government-issued photo ID to receive your official GSC student ID card.
- If you plan to park in any campus parking lot during the semester (resident or commuter), bring your license plate number to receive your campus parking pass.
No, First Time Freshmen are encouraged to attend the orientation session for New Freshmen.
